The Australian Bureau of Statistics Report shows that in the five years from 1996 to 2000 (inc), electronics and scientific research and development (R&D) expenditure by the private sector, in the State of South Australia, averaged over 25% of all private R&D investment in the State's manufacturing industry, yet this investment comes from an industry which employs only 1.2% of the workforce.
